Mazda MX5 Ice Race - Sweden 2011

Mazda opens the 2011 motorsport season on Swedish ice with a four-hour ice race in Åre, Sweden. After the successful MX-5 Open Race last year, on Adria and Hockenheim Track, Mazda is inviting racing enthusiasts to Sweden for the MX-5 Ice Race from 21 to 24 February 2011. A total of 20 modified MX-5s, tuned for driving on ice and wearing spike tyres, will participate in the icy 5km track. The two-part race will follow true endurance racing tradition, so the winner will be the team to have driven the most laps during the 4 hours battle. The MX-5s will be piloted by teams from 26 participating nations, among them motor journalists with racing experience, and TV fans and readers who won tickets to the event in special contests.

Rota R Spec 16'' - Will fit my MX5 NC?

For next year i want to buy a set of winter tires, so i also need a new set of rims (to use in summer)... I have the 16'' stock wheels on my NC, and i want to remain on this size because my budget is limited... Winter tires will go on stock rims. I also want a wheel not too heavy... Stock 16'' is 6,8Kg / 15lbs and i don't want to have a 16+ lbs wheels. For summer tires setup, i've looked for OZ Ultraleggera 16'' but the price remain too high for my budget. Now, i take a look for Rota's... and i found this Rota R Spec, a replica of Integra 98 wheels. I like the Anthracite model:
16x7 5x114 ET:45 Hub: 73mm? Weight: 6,51Kg / 14.35lbs ?

Here with 205/50 R16 on (other car)

Will they fit on NC? Someone have it on his NC?

I read that someone found that Rota GT3 16'' don't fit, so i'm hesitant to buy this Spec R.

Take a look on this post, on Miata.net

Front Water Leaks Point - MX5 NC

Last weekend, i've had this problem after a car wash:
Drop of water coming from somewhere near the OBD2 plug. Surprise! There was also some rust!

I've followed Moz71's (Miata.net) and repair manual intruction for removing Cowl Grille, and Wipers:
1. The black plastic cowl under the windscreen (outside) has 2 small oval covers on either side, remove them.
2. You'll see a screw under there - this was the leak point.
3. Remove the screws, wiper arms, washer nozzle hoses etc. so that you can remove the entire cowl.
4. You'll see a plastic plug in the body which those screws tap into.
5. The plastic plugs have a sponge gasket under them. One of mine was soaked and from looking underneath I could clearly see that the leak was coming from there. The sponge gasket is crap and when you think about it, the screw will actually pull up on the plug/gasket and actually reduce the seal.

I've put sealant around the plastic plug, and inside the screw hole.

In the weekend, i will remove the cowl grille another time, and i will cover the entire plug also with a good quality tape, for major protection.
