Drop of water coming from somewhere near the OBD2 plug. Surprise! There was also some rust!
I've followed Moz71's (Miata.net) and repair manual intruction for removing Cowl Grille, and Wipers:
1. The black plastic cowl under the windscreen (outside) has 2 small oval covers on either side, remove them.2. You'll see a screw under there - this was the leak point.
3. Remove the screws, wiper arms, washer nozzle hoses etc. so that you can remove the entire cowl.
4. You'll see a plastic plug in the body which those screws tap into.
5. The plastic plugs have a sponge gasket under them. One of mine was soaked and from looking underneath I could clearly see that the leak was coming from there. The sponge gasket is crap and when you think about it, the screw will actually pull up on the plug/gasket and actually reduce the seal.
I've put sealant around the plastic plug, and inside the screw hole.
In the weekend, i will remove the cowl grille another time, and i will cover the entire plug also with a good quality tape, for major protection.
