Built to perform Miata? Excessive Stretched Tires

My question is: WHY those 10.5J ET -22 wheels with impressively stretched 195/50R15 Tires on a "Corner Lover" Miata??? This is a really nice Miata, with amazing specs, but IMHO those wheels are really improper or useless. Excessive Stretched Tires are the enemy of handling, so are not right for a "Corner Lover Miata". What do you think?

IMHO, simply having a 195/205 on a 8J ET0 (Max!) can be a great setup. But the best for great handling should be 7J or 8J ET20

It's his car. Not yours, grow up and let him do what he wants.

He can do what he wants, but i can give my opinion too...
The title said: Built to perform!
Lot of money spent under the hood and for other great upgrades, and a poor street tires set, on a 15x10 wheel...
It's a grip miata, or a poser miata? Title said: build to perform, so i think: wow, a great touge miata! The result seems like the grip which have R/C drift car with plastic wheels. This miata is really nice, with those wheels, but 4me is not for performance.

“The he can do what he wants” crowd are clueless and probably under 18 years of age. The fact is, the wheels and tires - even the camber, on that Miata are mainly an aesthetic decision, and do nothing good for performance the way they are. An odd decision on an otherwise stellar build.
